Michael Rex is a photographer with a passion for capturing beauty in motion. His heritage and upbringing on a pioneering, Australian sheep farm birthed in him a love for adventure and the unexpected which is reflected in his work. At an early age he discovered the best way to capture his deep love for people and culture was to carry a camera and watch the stories unfold.
After living twenty-five years in Christchurch, New Zealand, Michael has recently married his best friend and soul mate from Midwest, USA. They have settled in Tauranga, New Zealand in the beautiful Bay of Plenty--where they keep chickens and manage a small blue berry orchard.
Michael has studied agriculture, global frontier missions, and event management. He has photographed weddings around the world. He has worked as a freelance photographer in London, Perth, and Sydney, and has done photo journalism for community development in Cambodia. In 2012 he was employed as the sports and events photographer by Guildford Grammar School in Perth.
